Trust & Safety
How HANDeMANbid works, what we do and don't do, and what to do if something goes wrong. Operated by PathoBrainSeq Inc.
What HANDeMANbid is — and isn't
- A place to post jobs and compare bids. Homeowners describe a job; local pros bid; the homeowner picks. Both sides see the same job details, so bids are comparable.
- We are not a party to the job. The agreement for the work is between the homeowner and the pro. We don't employ pros, assign jobs, or set prices.
- We don't handle money. HANDeMANbid takes 0% of the job and does not collect, hold, or pay out payment for work. You pay the pro directly, the way you'd pay any contractor.
- “Licensed / insured” is self-reported. We don't verify licenses yet. Ask to see a license and proof of insurance for work that needs them in your state.
Before you hire — a short checklist
- Compare at least two bids — and, where one is shown, the fair-price range for your area.
- Confirm what's included: materials, cleanup, permits, and warranty.
- Get the final price and scope in writing (a message or text is fine) before work starts.
- Avoid paying the full amount up front. A deposit for materials is common; the balance on completion.
- Read the pro's reviews — each score comes from a finished job on HANDeMANbid.
Not allowed
- Fake jobs, fake bids, or bidding on your own job.
- Reviews that aren't about a real job, or reviews offered in exchange for a discount.
- Claiming a license, insurance, or experience you don't have.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, or sharing someone else's personal information.
- Scams: asking for payment for a job that was never agreed, requests for gift cards or wire transfers, or phishing links.
- Posting illegal work or anything that isn't a home service.
We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Serious cases (threats, fraud) may be reported to law enforcement.
How to report something
- In the app, tap the 🛟 Help button in the top bar and choose New message.
- Tell us the job title or the person's name and what happened. Screenshots help.
No app handy? Use handemanbid.com/support or email support@handemanbid.com. We review every report within one business day and reply in the same thread.
If a job goes wrong
- Talk to the other side first. Most problems — a missed date, a detail that was left out — are settled directly. Refer back to the bid: it records the price, what's included, and the warranty the pro offered.
- Tell us. Send a Help message with the job title. We can look at the job, the bid, and any counter-offer recorded on HANDeMANbid, remind both sides of what was agreed there, and act on any rule that was broken (for example by removing a fake review or suspending an account).
- Leave an honest review. Reviews stay with the pro's profile and are shown on their future bids.
Because we are not a party to the work and never receive the payment, we can't issue refunds, compel a refund, or decide who owes whom. For money disputes, use the remedies available to you — your card issuer or payment app, your state's contractor licensing board, or small-claims court.
Refunds
HANDeMANbid is free, so there is nothing to refund from us. Any refund for the work itself is between you and the other party.
